SUPPORT WINDSOR's HOMELESS ANIMALS...GO TO THE CIRCUS THIS WEEKEND! Sound strange? Read on...and help get the word out!
Hey -
I know I’m always yapping and/or ranting about animal rights – but this is something positive…a fantastic way to HELP animals AND support Windsor.
This weekend – a circus is coming to town.
Normally, I’d be pulling out signs, sending out press releases, building anti-circus facebook pages and bitching in the newspapers and on the radio about this…
This time – I’m asking you to please go and support it.
The show is Circus Garden’s production of Zoom Street at the WFCU Centre.
It’s animal free. 100 percent animal free.
Better yet – it’s a cheap show.
Even better – 1 dollar from every adult, senior or student ticket will go to the Windsor Essex County Humane Society – who are in desperate need right now, especially during these trying economic times.
The reason it is so important we attend this show - or help get the word out about it – is because ANOTHER circus...the Shrine Circus is ALSO coming to town in July.
Unfortunately, the Shriners still feel the need to use animals (elephants, dogs, Arabian horses) in their show.
I won’t get into the disturbing details – but let me just say this: There is no argument here and I will not debate this...If you are someone who claims to love animals - you shouldn’t support the Shrine Circus.
This is coming from first hand experience – after years of personally demonstrating at the Shrine Circus – I have seen FIRST HAND with my own eyes – the horrid conditions elephants are kept in.
It’s inhumane. And the numbers each year to these shows – are dwindling.
This is telling.
It’s time the Circus evolves – if it wants to survive – because our ideas of what we believe we have the right to do to animals ...they are changing too.
The Circus Garden show at the WFCU Centre this weekend is an example of this evolution.
It’s a huge – and I admit – risky step for a circus. It's also brave - and they need to be commended for it.
They deserve to be applauded for taking this step.
When I think of a circus - I think of Motorcycles high above the arena flloor, beauty, style and grace on silken threads,Dueling Diablos, artistic and atounding acrobatics, the Double Wheel of Destiny, the globe of Death…The Circus Garden Show this weekend at the WFCU Centre offers all of this…without exploiting animals…and the show goes to a good cause: Our homeless Windsor animals.
There are four shows this weekend…and I’m asking you – personally – if you can make it out to one – with yourself, with a friend – with a niece, a nephew, a grandkid, a son a daughter…please support this show. The success of this show - this weekend - at the WFCU Centre is so important.
Circus Garden's Zoom Circus - this weekend at the WFCU Centre...go see it!
On the other hand - when the Shrine Circus comes to town in July, I will be demonstrating against it – and I invite you to do the same.
But – I know that’s not for everyone.
Right now – if you are interested in helping animals and helping the humane society in a positive, non-confrontational way – and helping all the circus animals who are currently forced to perform in a show because it is part of a tradition that should be killed off…post this note – share it with people who might be interested. And help get the word out.
Please read show info below...
Sincerely,
Dan MacDonald
