WORLD IN FLAMES
Just a quick update.
Some may not know...some may have half-stories...some may be worried...
anyway...
Wayne, Pluto and I suffered a fire in our home. It started in our neighbors home and spread to ours. We have extensive smoke, water and structural damage to our house and the entire thing has to be gutted and rebuilt.
Until then, the 3 of us are homeless, 3 months minimum.
Luckily we have house insurance (otherwise, I probably just would have walked back INTO our house and taken a big, smokey breath to put myself out of my misery - that's a joke, honest!) so we are taken care of.
But, it sucks.
The smell of a burning house is something I hope no one EVER has to experience, if you have not already.
Unfortunately, our neighbor - a 91 year old man - was killed in the fire. His wife, 85 is in critical and SERIOUS condition. It has given me a new perspective on life. You just never know when YOURS could change...
or end.
It's a strange feeling, when your nightmares come true. My worst fear - EVER - was having our house destroyed - and it has come to pass.
But, in a round about way...it's okay.
Because - "Shit", the wise man said, "Happens."
And it's part of life, and I'm lucky enough to have the luxury of being able to live and breath and taste and smell ALL of it - the good and the bad, because in it's own way - it's all a very, beautiful thing.
Dan
